Halloween Cookies - Part 1

These are Halloween sugar cookies which you can use as cupcake toppers or simply just to be given as it is to your family and friends on Halloween!

I was playing around with royal icing and sugar cookies lately. It is just like art where the sugar cookies are like your canvas, the piping bag - your paint brush and the royal icing - your paint. It is so fun but at times quite frustrating because I don't have lots of piping tips. In fact I do not have any proper ones suitable for sugar cookies decorations unlike professional sugar cookies bloggers who easily have more than 3 Wilton round piping tip #2 and #3 (the basic piping tips to have).

My Halloween cookies are drawn using paper piping cones that I had made. Something we learned at LCB and something that all Patissier must know how to make (referring to paper piping cones). However, piping tips would be preferred as the lines will be more define and cleaner (I supposed).

I have some ideas of how my Halloween products will be. However, there are just too much 'sugar' food stacked up on my dining table and fridge that I have to stop making more sweet treats. Hence, I am unable to show you my entire idea of my Halloween products.

If you are a regular on my blog, you should have seen the cupcakes that I had made from my many previous posts. Try imagine those cupcakes with either Orange, Green, Purple or even Black frostings followed by these Halloween sugar cookies sitting on top of the frosting. Tadah!!!! A simple Holloween product is done.

Another idea will be Oreo Cheesecake cups with layers of mashed Oreos and Oreo Cheesecake and something special to add to the effect of the 'spooky look'. (I will try to produce it next week and blog about it. Crossing fingers.)

Anyway, I took some close up photos of the Halloween products.

and a Sneak Preview of Mr Spider - sorry that the resolution is not too good for this photo (took it with my mobile)

xx,
